What is the Gut Rebalancing Protocol (GRP)?
The GRP is a comprehensive program that leverages scientific research… showing clear links between the health of the Gut Microbiome and your overall health. It is carefully curated FOOD and LIFESTYLE prescription to rebalance and restore the foundation of your health – Your Gut Microbiome.
Research is clear, selective stimulation of beneficial bacteria through FOOD and LIFESTYLE changes results in a Gut Microbiome that is…
✅ Rich (the number of species)
✅ Even (the relative abundance of each species)
✅ Diverse (a metric accounting for both species richness and evenness)
✅ Functional (Shape community function)
Cutting edge science is clear…
📚 “The consortium of single-celled organisms residing in our intestines, the gut microbiome, is rapidly emerging as an important determinant of health”
📚 “Intentional introduction… of prebiotic food ingredients and foods high in fibre can also be a means of subtly changing the relative abundance of bacterial species in the gut”
📚 “The use of Probiotics, or TOO MUCH of a certain food (good or bad) can dominate and thus reduce other important beneficial bacteria species. It is crucial in the rebalancing period to ensure that the composition of the Gut microbe community remains relatively equal during growth to ensure long-term sustainable benefits.”
📚 “Long-term diet influences the structure and activity of the trillions of microorganisms residing in the human gut”
📚“Diet is a major influence on the bacterial makeup of the aging gut”
While it is clear that food is one of the determinants of a healthy gut and in turn, a healthy body, LIFESTYLE factors have been implicated as being ‘crucial’ in the development and maintenance of the Gut Microbiome
📚 “Stress influences gut motility, secretions, and mucin production, thereby altering the habitat of resident bacteria, promoting changes in the composition of the gut microbiome and allowing the growth of pathogenic bacteria”
📚 “The Gut Microbiome has been shown to be able to moderate CNS function, and a dysfunctional gut microbiota contribute to CNS disorders such as Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Studies show that those with OCD have diminished species diversity and abundance, compared with that of healthy controls”
📚 “Your circadian rhythm has a role to play in regulating your Gut Microbiome and your responses to gastrointestinal pathogens”
📚 “Exercise that induces heat in the body, increases intestinal permeability leading to gastrointestinal complaints”
📚 “Cumulative evidence has demonstrated an intimate, bidirectional connection between the gut and skin, and numerous studies link gastrointestinal (GI) health to skin health and vice a versa” These include Rosacea, Acne, Dermatitis, Eczema etc.
The GRP addresses ALL these factors through a comprehensive FOOD and LIFESTYLE prescription
embedded in an educational program that provides LIFELONG skills and tools for optimal health.
I have a medical condition; Can I do the GRP?
Absolutely, however you don’t need to WAIT until you get a health condition to do it. You may just be at that stage of life where things are starting to fall apart and want to be proactive in prevention and also to head into the next 50-yrs of your life being ridiculously healthy!
As you can imagine, there a many types of health conditions (too numerous to list here) however the GRP has been ‘Doctor & Specialist Recommended’ for a wide-range of health issues.
Because it’s an application of cutting-edge research on what is needed to re-establish the function and diversity of your Gut Microbiome.
You see… you have 110+ trillion cells in your body and 90% of them are ‘bacteria’ – your Gut Microbiome. Essentially you are MORE bacteria than human and this collection of beneficial gut microbes (bacteria) constitute your Gut Microbiome which…
- Keeps you at a Healthy Weight
- Keeps your metabolism working at optimal speed
- Sustains the gastrointestinal tract, keeping it in tip top condition – so you have NO digestive issues
- Assists in the digestion of food, harvesting calories and extracting vitamins and minerals
- Regulates the immune system: 70-80% of immune cells are located within your intestines.
- Regulates neurotransmitters – one in particular – Serotonin which regulates mood, appetite and sleep (95% is in your gut!) Also regulates Dopamine 50% in your gut.
- Regulates your appetite – no cravings
- Regulates sleep and circadian rhythm
- Regulates hormones… to mitigate the use of any ‘hormone’ replacements
- Helps with the conversion of T4 to T3 for Thyroid Health
- Inhibits fat accumulation associated with obesity
- Metabolizes important nutrients like carbs and fats
- Plays a role in memory and learning
- Modulates gastrointestinal motility – keeping you regular
- Produces Vitamins B & K
- Produces natural antibiotics
And truly the list goes on with new research emerging on a daily basis showing the infinite workings of not just the Gut Microbiome but your Oral Microbiome, Skin Microbiome etc. And the research is clear… dysfunction of the Gut Microbiome has been linked to numerous diseases.
When the function and balance of YOUR ‘Gut Microbiome’ is restored, your health is restored. See our RESULTS page for the various types of health conditions that clients have successfully treated by JUST doing the GRP.

But the long answer is THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. If you’re only interested in short-term gig, or finish by ‘date’ then the GRP is NOT for you. Natalie is offering a more profound, educational and beneficial way in which to regain your health and keep it that way. The 56-days is JUST the start, then comes the implementation of what you have learnt.
While the breakdown of the GRP is done in phases… Onboarding, Preparation Phase, Phase 1 , Phase 2 , Maintenance and Implementation … depending on a client’s health condition more time may need to be spent in a particular phase with a full or partial repeat.
Clients who have successfully completed the GRP, and met selection criteria, are invited to be Alumni members to hone their skills and learn more.
Do I need to buy supplements?
NO! Natalie offers a FOOD and LIFESTYLE prescription NOT supplements.
In some cases (less than 10% of clients) – who have had a long-standing health condition, or multiple conditions – a prescription of specifically targeted clinical therapeutic probiotics is issued. If this is necessary, then clients receive a dedicated member wholesale account to purchase at wholesale prices.
Is the GRP doable anytime of the year? Winter? Summer?
Absolutely. With clients from around the world the GRP food component has successfully been enjoyed during cold North American winters and scorching hot Australian Summers!! If there are raw meals (e.g. salads) during winter – then we ask you to put the heater on and enjoy! If there’s a cooked warm meal (e.g. soup or stew) in Summer, we ask them to turn on the air-con and enjoy!! But for the most part no-one ever complains as they get ridiculously healthy and feel so much better — even after the FIRST week. In addition, there are many ‘variations’ that suit people in different climates across the globe.
Can I start the GRP at any time?
Absolutely. But if you’re waiting for that RIGHT TIME then you’ll be waiting for the rest of your life (and the GRP is not for you)

Can I drink coffee ☕️ on the GRP?
YES!!! But you don’t have to! In fact, coffee has been shown to increase populations of Bifidobacterium… a species known to improve gut barrier function, accelerate intestinal transit and reduce visceral hypersensitivity. Buy hey, depending on your health condition it may not be suitable for you while you are repairing and restoring your gut health. But don’t worry you will be learning what to add or not add in the GRP!
Can I drink alcohol 🍷🥂🍺 on the GRP?
Not in the start (or longer depending on your medical condition/medication). This is due to the inflammation alcohol causes to beneficial gut flora. But later the introduction of Organic Non-Preservative Red Wine enters the GRP in divided doses.
I am single, does the GRP cater for individuals?
Unlike many recipes that cater for 3, 4 or 5 people ALL Recipes and ALL shopping lists have a 1-person column. This way you can easily buy food and make recipes without wasting money, time or throwing out excess food. The savings on the GRP equate to up to $100 week with clients stating they paid for their GRP with the savings they made. Not to mention a life of health – priceless!
Can I Exercise While on the GRP ?

Are there any special ingredients? Can I buy everything from my local supermarket?
About 95% of the ingredients can be purchased from ANY supermarket around the globe!! We know first-hand because to date we have had clients from all over Australia, New Zealand, Canada, USA, Japan, Vietnam, UK, Switzerland and Germany.
They have bought their ingredients from local supermarkets such as. Coles, Aldi, Woolworths, Sainsbury’s, Aeon, Daiei, Edeka, Safeway, SuperValu, IGA, Fresh St. Market, etc. just to name a few. Some ingredients such as Tamari, Hemp seeds etc may not be available from your supermarket but are readily available from bulk stores, health food stores, online or Asian supermarkets.
Can I get a sample of the recipes?
With 600+ Gut Health recipes and so many types of dishes e.g. breakfasts, snacks, elixirs, drinks, warming stews, soups, salads, treats, smoothies, fermented foods, condiments, sauces, dressings, pastes etc. you can imagine it is difficult to show a sample of each one.
Recipes include cuisines from around the world such as… Mexican, Italian, Vietnamese, Western, European, Indian, Thai, Chinese, Japanese and Middle-Eastern.
But here is one of the recipes I am sure you will like (it’s a big hit with little kids and big kids) … Chunky Spiced Tomato and Corn Soup
Is the GRP Gluten free?
Yes, even though it contains Oats, which for Coeliacs, may or may not be tolerated. A variation is given in this case. But its important to note the GRP is not against GLUTEN and all clients go back to eating (and more importantly tolerating) their favourite pasta dishes!! Read more about what the latest research says about Gluten
Is the GRP Dairy/Lactose free?
Yes, the GRP is ‘dairy free’. But don’t worry you will have recipes to make all your non-dairy versions of non-dairy milk (6 varieties) ice-cream, chocolate, mayonnaise, hard and soft cheeses, sour cream, custard, butter, chocolate and white cream frostings and many more delicious recipes.
Is the GRP Vegan?
The GRP is 100% plant-based as it is designed to restore and rebalance the function and diversity of the Gut Microbiome. Post-GRP we do NOT endorse any ‘one-way’ of eating or ‘diet’. We educate you on how to manage your health for Optimal Health.
Is the GRP Paleo?
No. Animal products such as meat, chicken, fish, eggs and dairy are excluded. However, as the recipes are ‘Family friendly’ other people in your family can ADD in anything they wish to and more importantly you will learn SO much about making better ‘meat’ choices.
Is the GRP Keto?
Yes and No.
The GRP limits ‘simple carbs’ due to their effects on feeding pathogenic bacteria so it is ‘essentially’ short-term having similar effects to Keto but without the animal products.
The use of the Keto diet with animal products leads to Constipation, High triglyceride levels, High cholesterol, Lethargy and Iron deficiency. Keto diets have been shown to increase the risk of certain chronic diseases such as Cardiovascular disease, Type-2 Diabetes, Cancer, and more. A study published in 2018 in The Lancet Public Health found that low-carb diets such as the keto and paleo diets can reduce life expectancy.
But hey – don’t worry the GRP is not about CARBS it is about healthy forms of Fibre that come from Plants – not donuts!!
Is the GRP Whole Food Plant Based?
The GRP is 100% plant-based and uses whole foods 95% of the time e.g. Ingredients such as ‘tamari’ or ‘maple syrup’ are not considered a whole food but rather minimally processed (hence the 5%). There are always options to insert variations. Post-GRP we do NOT endorse any ‘one-way’ of eating or ‘diet’ we educate you on how to manage your individual needs for Optimal Health.
Is the GRP Whole Food Plant Based, No Salt, No oil?
90% of the GRP recipes have no ‘added salt’.
In regard to ‘oil’… the GRP implements a cooking strategy whereby you can Choose the Water or Vegetable Stock Method. There is oil used in dressings, but there are variations.
This education GRP will teach you about the effects of too much ‘salt’ and ‘oil’ on the Gut Microbiome and your health. And then moving forward… learning how to balance these ‘extras’
The GRP is supportive of those who are starting their journey to a healthier lifestyle and are transitioning to a healthier life. Baby steps that are manageable, tasty and doable 🙂
Post-GRP we do NOT endorse any ‘one-way’ of eating or ‘diet’ we educate you on how to manage your individual needs for Optimal Health.
Is the GRP nut free?
No, but you will be given personalised advice on how to manage if you, or a member of your family, has a nut allergy. you have heaps of options if you, or a member of your family, has a nut allergy.
Is the GRP raw?
There are many raw dishes and also options to dehydrate dishes instead of cooking if you wish. The GRP has a mix of raw and cooked meals.
Does the GRP follow similar principles to Low FODMAP, SIBO or Anti-Candida diet?
YES and NO… You see… Pathogenic bacteria, and the cycle of dysbiosis (microbial imbalance) and Candida overgrowth, feed off certain foods, so these are removed for a period of time then slowly reintroduced depending on your health improvements.
Where the GRP is COMPLETELY different is that rather being restrictive – it is INCLUSIVE – opening you up to an array of delicious meals and ranges of fibre. So rather than going ‘without’ you go ‘WITH’. WHY? Because the o Gut Microbiome relies on a range of different types of fibre in divided doses for optimal recovery and function.
Natalie has had 400+ clients walk through her clinic doors over the last few years, many who have followed FODMAP, or Anti-Candida diets, and have ended up with even great intolerances to foods and their condition has not resolved. That’s because many do not know that the low FODMAP diet is only meant to be LOW in FODMAPs during an elimination phase and not completely depleted of FODMAPs as it can further exacerbate symptoms.
In fact, the latest science from Monash university researchers says… “Unfortunately, we often see people following a very strict low FODMAP diet, that are only sticking to a small number of foods that they feel safe eating. While, this may be helping in the short term, long term the lack of variety can have a negative effect”. This is because the ‘restriction’ further damages the Gut Microbiome, the foundation of good gut health.
If you would like to see more info on client’s personal experiences… read here about their RESULTS

Unfortunately, at this stage there is no closed captioned for the Podcasts, but we have transcripts for all of them for you to read!
I am vision impaired; will this limit me in the GRP?
All information is communicated through the written word so being able to read the information is VITAL. If you have services in place to help you, or special equipment to assist, then you will be able to do it. We do, however, recommend that you join Private Plan so that you get the extra support required.
I am a shift worker. Will this work for me?
Absolutely, because ALL the planning has been done you. We’ve had nurses, doctors, pilots, FIFO workers and more successfully complete the GRP Many shift workers comment that having a plan has made their life so much simpler. However, if you are FIFO (Fly-in and Fly-out worker) then more planning is involved to take to site.
Is the GRP suitable for any country?
YES. The recipes refer to quantities in teaspoons, tablespoons and cups – which are internationally recognized. In addition, all measurements are both metric and imperial. All food items are listed in the most commonly used names e.g. Capsicum/Bell Pepper, Coriander/Cilantro, Eggplant/Aubergine etc.
All items are READILY available in any country. How do I know? So far, we have had clients from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, USA, Japan, Vietnam, UK, Switzerland, Scotland and Germany.
Do I need to buy only Buy Organic?
Absolutely NOT but if you wish to you can – this is a personal choice. Obviously, Organic is a great choice as it is not sprayed with herbicides and pesticides. But on the GRP, you will learn how you can reduce pesticide when preparing food.
Is the GRP budget friendly?
Starting up a new way of eating often means adding new ingredients to your pantry which can incur a cost, however as recipes use everyday items, participants report that it is budget friendly and that on average an individual saves at least $100AUD a week on their grocery bill. Also, plant-based products, are generally cheaper than animal-based products.
To ease the initial costs involved, shopping lists give you the minimum amount of an ingredient you need for the week. E.g. ½ cup Chia seeds – so you have the option of going to a bulk store and buy a small amount rather than having to purchase a whole packet.
Can my family follow the GRP with me?
While you can use the Gut Health Compendium Recipes (600+) as a BASE you can NOT have others follow the Meal Plans you are provided with AS IS. The GRP is designed to treat specific health conditions and rebalance the microbiome with careful clinical monitoring.
‘Restricting’ and the removal of food groups when not being closely monitored can erode and damage the function of your family’s microbiome and may result in detrimental outcomes.
But the good news is that because EVERY SINGLE recipe is plant-based, you can ADD-IN extras to cater for other members of the family, meaning you don’t have to cook different meals.
Over 95% of clients have families (See RESULTS page) and found the Gut Health Compendium Recipes a FANTASTIC base to add in extras such as meat, chicken, eggs, noodles (basically anything) to cater for the whole family.
Will I get enough Protein on the GRP?
It’s understandable that you may be worried, as all the Marketing messages out there say you need ‘more Protein’ and give you the impression that Protein is only available in animal products. But it is a complete fallacy that only animal-based foods contain Protein. ALL whole, plant-based foods have Protein. In fact, animals get their Protein from plants!!
The GRP ensures that you are meeting your Protein requirements as it is an important element of health and is the main building blocks of muscles, organs, skin and hair. In addition, proteins regulate your metabolism, support the immune system, plays a role in the formation of blood cells and liver detoxification.
However it is well documented that …“Proteins may also be substrates for colonic microbiota, but their fermentation is usually associated with the growth of potential pathogens and the production of undesirable substances“
The GRP has been nutritionally designed to meet the daily requirements of ‘protein’ as well as giving numerous variations to increase ‘protein’ sources naturally with food, if activity levels or health requirements are greater.
Will I get enough Calcium without Dairy?
Another fallacy is that ‘only’ dairy can supply you with the Calcium you need. Just as previously explained with Protein – Whole, Plant-based Foods – provide the body with all it requires.
CALCIUM is one of the most abundant minerals in the human body. 99% of Calcium is in our bones and teeth where it provides structure. It is also used for nerve and muscle function. Calcium is a mineral found in the soil and absorbed into the roots of plants. Animals absorb calcium by eating mineral-abundant plants. And guess what? This is how we absorb it too! Through plants.
A diet rich in Prebiotic foods, such as Galactooligosaccharides (GOS) (e.g. lentils and chickpeas) increase Calcium absorption. While improving numbers of beneficial Bifidobacteria which then in turn enhances and modulates the absorption of Calcium.
Are the recipes easy to make?
YES, YES and YES. They have been designed for ‘busy’ people. Preparation time is about 20-minutes and most meals are ready in 30-40 minutes. There are sometimes soups/stews that require more time to simmer but you can go and have a shower, prep for work the next day etc. while it is simmering away!
But imagine not having to think every single night… “What’s for dinner?”
As the Meal Plans are suited for you to choose what you want to eat on a daily basis, it allows you to swap in recipes that have shorter preparation and cooking times on days when you are ‘time poor’. There are many freezer friendly meals, so you can do a big cook-up on a weekend and freeze meals for ease during the week.

If you have a BMI of less than 19.5 then you may be considered.
If you are thinking… “Isn’t the official ‘underweight’ category a BMI of less than 18.5?” … Yes, it is, however during the first phase of the GRP, as inflammation levels reduce significantly, there is usually an approximate loss of around 3kg (6.6lbs) in most clients, therefore Natalie reviews cases of individuals that have a BMI less than 19.5 to assess their suitability to the GRP.
I live overseas, out of state, can I do the GRP?
ABSOLUTELY as the GRP is online!! Natalie has clients from around the world, which to date, include Australia, New Zealand, Canada, USA, Japan, Vietnam, UK, Switzerland and Germany. She is always excited to have clients from other countries around the world! But hey if you’re in Perth W.A. Australia… you can still choose to visit the clinic in person or have consults online!
